Welcome, 2018! Like many I've got new resolutions set for the new year. One of them is this blog. I'm wanting to use it to keep up my practice of drawing, painting, inking, and any other method of image creating I encounter.
I started this blog last summer when I was doing a lot of painting. It was a speratic idea that fell off after 2 posts... I resolve to stick to it this time. My starting goal is to simple post twice a month. Keep it simple and low pressure, and maybe I won't fall off the wagon so quickly. I know that I will be getting busy in the coming months with personal matters, keeping the time restraints loose should keep things more relaxed. My posting goal is on Thursdays to keep things routine. We shall see if that is a realistic day for me to post.
I'm not totally sure how I'll be writing, but art processes and tools will be the main topics, I think.
For example. I was convinced to use Christmas money to finally buy myself an Apple Pencil. I've really enjoyed using it so far, even if I've just had it for a few days. I'm still figuring out how the different pen settings work in comparison from a stylus to the Apple pencil. But it has made it easier to transfer some of my sketches into a digital format to color and work with.
Swerve is a prime example :D!

My happy little boy! This was a drawing I did for inktober 2017. It was easy to upload the original image into Procreate and begin drawing over top of him as well as adding colors and shading. I'm so proud of my boy.
Sketching is also much easier to do with the pencil than it was with a stylus. Sketchy doodles become nicer pieces of work much easier now. That makes me really excited. I hope this means that I can get myself to work digitally more often. It was usually an area I shied away from because I didn't feel I had enough control over what I did. Now, I feel I have that control back. I do have to remember to keep it plugged in and charged. Even when not being used the charge drains quickly.
So here is to the new year! New growth and progress. (I need to learn how to do proper backgrounds 4^_^; )
